Well folks, in our home, the term old lady has nothing to do with my wife. That term is reserved for Chelsea. One beautifull thing, I call her an old lady and her tail wags even harder and she pushes up for more attention. This season has been slow for ducks on this end and Katie gets most of the runs. Today, I took Chels just for fun and with a boat in case she could not make the retrieve. Three Mergansers flew overhead and I hit one of them solid. Chelsea missed the landing but after I pointed the bird out on the water, over the side she went and was on it. Yup, only one bird for the day but it was a great one with the "old lady".

That's great but can hardly think of her as an old lady as she was a youngster when we first hunted together with her. That's been some years ago and we've put on some years ourselves. :D

She is 10 1/2 and still doing fairly well. The back hips are getting some arthritis I think but other then that she is still the queen of the house. She can not push off in the tuff stuff with her hind legs like she used to so I am afraid of her not being able to get through some of the mud bogs we hunt. So I only hunt her on land or clean water now. Her daughter Katie is my mud dog and she loves to crash through stuff. Just like her mom used to be. After two litters in her life and lots of running, she gets the honored position of queen of the kennel. :D Rick

No kidding. Time does fly. Of course, I call her an old lady and then groan with her like an old man and reach for the motrin. :D Rick
