Had a great time this past weekend as Jeff's (VHD) daughter joined us and my son joined me one day. . .of course, the day the alarm didn't go off.
Sunday we had a great time at the pond on my property and the wood ducks put on a show for Kelsey just before shooting time as they just kept piling into us. They swam around for a few minutes and Jeff waited until a few minutes after shooting time to pick out a couple drakes. I had a blocked view and didn't bother taking a shot.
It was an enjoyable time, although warm, and about the easiest set up possible. . .throw out a couple decoys, keep the mojos in the vehicle, sit back and enjoy the colors around the ol' beaver pond. My weimaraner showed off her versatility, having one wood duck that fell into the water escape into the woods about 150 yards and her follow the track as good as possible.

My son Hunter after the hunt wiping mud either off him or on him. . .he lost a boot in the muck, I think that was the highlight of the hunt for him. It was just great hearing him say that he didn't care if we shot a duck or not, he was having fun with dad and Skyler.
